Description
Here's what it would look like if my favorite show WordWorld aired on Sprout (now Universal Kids). The episode I used is called "Happy Birthday Dog" which aired on September 3, 2007. You can watch it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWnDE_… It would air on March 14, 2011 on Sprout. For those of you who don't know what it is then let me explain.
WordWorld, also sometimes referred to as Word World is an American CGI-animated children's television series based on the books and the wooden puzzles of the same name. Created by Don Moody, Jacqueline Moody, Peter Schneider and Gary Friedman, the show was produced by The Learning Box and WTTW National.
WordWorld aired on PBS Kids from September 3, 2007 to January 17, 2011, with PBS later airing reruns on the national 24-hour PBS Kids channel from January 16, 2017 to October 2, 2022. 45 episodes were produced.
In the series, when letters are combined to spell words, they morph into the shape of the corresponding object. The animal characters and many objects are made of letters, and are respectively called WordFriends and WordThings. The main setting is a planet named WordWorld; despite its name, WordFriends and WordThings also exist in outer space. In each episode, the characters have a cartoonish adventure, and ultimately must "build a word" using syntentic phonics to solve a problem. Some episodes focus on concepts such as rhymes, compound words, and plural formation with -s. The show has Muppet crew connections like Tyler Bunch (credited as H.D. Quinn) and Peter Linz (credited as George Bailey). It also includes the voices of Sean Schemmel (credited as Daryl Ekroth), Veronica Taylor, Mirm Krigel, Lenore Zann and many more.
When aired internationally, it was designed to help children learn English.
Because PBS co-owned Sprout when the channel was launched, it aired a variety of shows from its archive library on Sprout, including reruns of WordWorld.
The show would air on Sprout from March 14, 2011 to August 14, 2015. It would air every Monday to Friday at 11AM EST, and PT/10AM CT, 3PM EST and PT/2PM CT, 9AM EST and PT/8AM CT.
It would air on the channel's blocks including the Sunny Side Up Show, The Super Sproutlet Show, Sprout's Wiggly Waffle, The Good Night Show and The Sprout Sharing Show.
Sorry if Bear's head is detached from her neck in the image but it's alright.
