Description
I did a recreation of Super Why airing on Sprout (now Universal Kids). The episode I used is called "The Three Little Pigs" which aired on September 3, 2007. You can watch it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-s1Wm4… . It aired on March 21, 2011 on Sprout. If you don't know what it is then let me explain.
Super Why! (stylized as Super WHY!) is an American-Candian CGI-animated children's television series created by Angela C. Santomero (Blue's Clues, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood) for PBS Kids. The series, produced by New York City-based Out of the Blue Enterprises (now 9 Story USA) in association with Toronto-based C.O.R.E Toons (animation for season 1 only, being the company's final show produced before their closure on March 15, 2010), Gallus Entertainment (animation for season 2 only) and DHX Media (originally through its Decode Entertainment division for season one) (now WildBrain), was distributed by PBS in the United States, Decode Enterprises for season 1 and DHX Distribution for seasons 2 and 3.
The show debuted on September 3, 2007 on PBS Kids in the US and CBC Kids in Canada and ended on May 12, 2016 with a total of 103 episodes across three seasons.
The show is set in Storybrook Village, where the titular character, Whyatt Beanstalk, lives with his friends Woofster (first appearing in season 2), Littlest Pig, Red Riding Hood, and Princess Pea. In each of the episodes, one of the main characters (sometimes two characters, or even all five) has a "super big problem", a "super big question", or a "super big mystery". The main characters then discuss their situation at the Book Club, agreeing to look and fly in a book of a famous story to resolve it.
The goal of the Super Readers is to follow the storyline of the book. As they progress through the events of the story, they encounter various obstacles, which can be solved by applying their literacy skills to change the story. As they overcome each of these obstacles, they are rewarded with red glittery "Super Letters" that form the solution to whatever scenario they're investigating.
At the conclusion of the adventure, the Super Readers fly back to the Book Club. The Super Letters are put onto the giant computer screen and are spelled out to show the "Super Story Answer". Then, one of the Super Readers gives the reason why that particular word or phrase serves as the solution to their issue or mystery.
Because PBS co-owned Sprout when the channel was launched, they aired a variety of shows from both their archive libraries on Sprout, including reruns of Super Why.
The description of the show was:
"Meet a group of friends that transform themselves from mere mortals into literacy-powered super heroes: Alpha Pig with "Alphabet Power," Wonder Red with "Word Power," Princess Presto with "Spelling Power," Super Why with the "Power to Read," and YOU-Super You, with the "Power to Help." Each episode presents a new and exciting adventure that requires the help of these super heroes. Watch Super WHY on Sprout, every day at 3 PM ET."
The show debuted on the Sprout channel on March 21, 2011 (the same day as Season 10 of Barney & Friends), and aired at 9AM ET during The Sunny Side Up Show, 8AM ET during Sprout's Wiggly Waffle, and 3PM ET during The Sprout Sharing Show (later at 4PM ET). In July, it replaced seasons 8-10 of Thomas and Friends. Starting on March 17, 2012, it started to air on weekend mornings at 8AM ET.
The description of the show on SproutOnline.com was:
"Watch Super WHY videos, play games and print coloring pages of Super Why, Alpha Pig, Wonder Red and Princess Presto. You can see Super WHY every day on Sprout at 3pm ET."To promote the show's launch, Liz and Chica called Super Why on the phone, who offered them assistance on spelling the word "welcome."
It stopped airing on Sprout on July 26, 2015, along with a few other shows.
The show has three seasons in total, but only the first two seasons aired because the third season premiered a month after the show ceased airing on Sprout.
I couldn't find any screenshots or clips of the show airing on the channel. I only found some promotional images and promos of the show.
So I decided to do a recreation of the show airing on Sprout so that you'll know how the show looked like when it aired on the channel.
Sorry if you can see the imgflip.com watermark at the bottom-left corner of the screen but it's okay.
