*~ 30 Day OTP Meme: Day One: Holding Hands ~ *

Complete with cheesy drabble!
It was a warm Sunday afternoon when Yong Soo and Maricela had decided to go out together. They both found themselves craving ice-cream and were making their way to the nearest ice-cream parlour. Usually the pair were very chatty, but today they were much more peaceful; they were content to just indulge in the other’s company.

But Maricela felt something was off. They were a couple, right? Goodness, they were walking side by side and yet they weren’t even holding hands! She wondered to herself if the thought struck Yong Soo’s mind too. Maricela knew that Yong Soo was a lot more forward than she was when it came to these gestures. The conclusion she came to was that the thought had completely flew past him. Figures. As much as he was a diehard romantic, there were times where even the great originator of affection missed his cues. So it’s her turn to initiate, she thought!

She gulped, slowly reaching for his hand. But instead of his hand, she ended up grabbing a handful of fabric. Of course, his hanbok’s sleeves were oversized. She pouted at this, silently willing the sleeve to just disappear or something.

Yong Soo did notice this gesture though. He gave her a smile and asked, “Something wrong with my sleeve? You’re kind of frowning at it.”

“It’s in the way,” Maricela instantly replied. Then she realised her own words and blushed, glancing off to the side. “...Y-Your sleeve.”

“My sleeve?” Yong Soo looked down at her hand and pondered the thought for a moment. It took a minute, but then he clued in. His face lit up even more. “You want to hold my hand?”

Her cheeks darkened. “Oh, I don’t know...” No, she did know. She definitely knew.

“I think you do!” Yong Soo laughed. He reached with his other hand and rolled up his hanbok sleeve, freeing up his hand at last. “You should have said so before! I’d love to hold hands with you, da-ze.”

Maricela looked back at him, studying the grin on his face. And with a light sigh, she turned and slipped her hand into his. He beamed at her, still keeping a hand to his sleeve to leave it up. And like that, they continued walking, fingers entwined.

So yeah, I'm doing this meme with a bunch of other friends (CJ's doing it for PhilBru, for example!) and that's what's going on for October! Because of commitments, the rest of the days will be in traditional pencil sketch but um... I'll colour my favourite pieces later on in the month, hurray? And I'll be doing shitty drabbles for each day too, or at least some of them. Hip-hooray.

So yeah, my OTP is South Korea x Philippines... and I have various reasons behind why I ship them, but I won't list them today, whoopsies.
