That's why I pick names that aren't so usual (like Lychee, Thyme, Lollipop) and make my character VERY distinct from the other fan characters that may share their name.

Meeeh, well, not everybody knows about the lesser-known fruits, hence their reputations, and maybe they wanted something immediately recognizable and thematic ^oAo^. Difficult, Mew naming conventions are to manage.

But when they're an immediately recognizable name, then they won't be that recognized since more people will do them. If you chose an uncommon fruit, you may have to work a little harder for people to notice them but when they do they won't have to search through 20 pages of other Mew just to find your work.

That's true, but, as well, sometimes people just like a certain fruit.

I was originally a cat, switched to horse around a year ago, but it doesn't fit me. Rat, Mouse, Spider, Hare, and Fox fit me the most, but I want Deer . Some people are just gon' choose deer, ya know ^o-o>?

Uhh, I don't think you understood the context of the example <.3.>. I meant that people will choose the one they want even if they know it won't work too well. Hence Deer ^oDo^.
