No one will do it for you.. no waiting for miracles, no self-pity, no expecting for situations to fix themselves...So with this in mind, she pushes ever harder against the tines of the flytrap, till they spring open defeated, and she sits upon her conquered foe, renewed, released, and wiser.

I don't know how it in Ireland, but in our country "sadistic" sometimes a kind of dark joke, not really something bad.
Such a little girl and such a bad hungry flower... hehehe :E

Yes it's my own plot!
And hehe well sadistic in English USUALLY has 'cruelty for sexual pleasure' implied due to the links with De Sade.

Well even in english, you can say someone is 'sadistic' to mean cruelty for pleasure, but the sexual pleasure is implied.. for instance you can say a boy is 'sadistic' for torturing a dog.. I mean it is a 'harsh' term that is what I meant.. not usually used for art (unless it's Giger where the intention is clearly obvious

I do love Venus Flytraps. Never feed them meat, though.
Anyways, beautifully done, I love the composition, the expression, the colors. Grand as always.

They are very hard to grow - I've always had ones that died, it's because you need to keep your garden condition 'marshy' yet at the same time, dry because wetness kills them.
It's also bad to trigger them to snap for no reason as it makes the plant waste eneregy! I love the idea of a carnivorous plant though, it's nuts!
