I am seeing several things, disjointed in theme, but...maybe connected, who knows?
The first thing I saw from the thumbnail was the indication of a nose, the shadow of the figure being the nostril and the figure being the bridge of the nose.
The second thing I noticed is that the figure is bending over so precariously to "poke" or "point" at the shadow which looks like an elongated heart... and thereby sensing there is a possiblility of life beating somewhere below.
The third thing I noticed is that the heart shaped shadow seems to have a face where the nose of that face looks like a zigzaggy "handle" or some sort of thing that the figure could pull on and enter an area of repose.
It is a most thought provoking piece, well done!

I think it is effing awesome....the spine...your work always has a bit of a twisted feel...but it never makes me not want to look at it..so I guess I'm saying it is disturbing enough but not too disturbing for me. It's really delicate how you handle angles and small details like the spine...lovely

Having a soft spot for elongated and alien like bodies I must say this looks really great.
The contrast and simplicity of this really does stand out as simply amazing.
