Hehe, once again a speedpainting turned into something more.....but it took way too long, I didn't get to work on it lately, because school and other things were sort of eating up my time, but now I am finally done. and I think I am quite satisfied with it, got a decent amount of detail into this and quite enjoyed the painting process. except for the bridge. and the stairs. oh, the rocks were quite an effort, too. and the....

Wow. That actually sent a chill down my spine.
I think because he IS so far away and partially hidden. The red eyes visibe, the staff... standing at the tactical advantageous point..
There was the strong feeling of 'threat'.
On the whole, I found the water, trees, moss, stone, keep, all to be excellent.. so fresh and moist. The sky/background looked slightly like it was a roll-down sheet, being quite abrupt.. but that was only noticed when looked specifically at.. On the whole, I would LOVE to have a print of this on my wall.
Maybe in the guest room, where I can put people I dont like so they have trouble sleeping.

in the background I went into a more or less flat green, because I figured that the mass of backlit leaves would merge into colour, because when you look at a forest under such a lighting you cannot really make out single trees anymore.
But I am glad that you like it, and that the fresh feeling is coming along

hehe, ja, ich studiere an der SAE und sitze grade in einer furchtbar schlechten vorlesung über 3d :B aber mei, werd ich wohl mal wieder selbst lernen müssen....
und ich glaub es müssten jetzt schon so bald 5 jahre sein die ich mich mit digital art beschäftige

SAE?! WARUM HAB ICH DAVON NIE WAS JEHÖRT??? (Übersetzung: Wie geil ist das denn?!) Du musst wissen, dass ich mich für Digital Film & Animation schon sehr interessiere, aber immer dachte, das Animationsstudium würde nur in Brandenburg angeboten werden... Und dort ist die Bewerbungsfrist abgelaufen und die Studiengebühren haben mich abgeschreckt! (Ich: 12. Klasse, juchuu, Abiturstress geht langsam los... 
Wie habe ich mir das denn dort vorzustellen, wo du derzeit "lernst"?
War grad mal die SAE-Site besuchen *56k Modem, go go go!

und
"Universitäts-Credits: 50 % des Bachelor of Arts" ?

hehe, wofür hast du dich denn entschieden?
und die SAE ist ja eine privatschule, da gibts mehrere stätten in deutschland. aber die ist leider auch ziemlich teuer 
die 50% des BoA sind ne doofe bezeichnung, und bringt dir letztendlich gar nichts wenn du nicht den bachelor studiengang an der SAE wählst. dann schließt du auch dort mit einem bachelor of arts ab, den dir die sae in parnerschaft mit der middlesex university verleiht. ich glaube aber du kannst auch nach dem diplom an der sae aufhören und dann an einer regulären uni den bachelor machen, aber ich bin mir nicht sicher.
nach dem studium...weiß noch nicht genau. ich werde versuchen bis dahin so gut wie möglich zu werden und dann mein portfolio an ein paar postproduktionsfirmen schicken, denk ich. ich hoff das klappt

haha. well, even though that might make sense with all the details, I don't think I will. with 1600x1200 we're already getting into printable dimensions, so I usually don't release anything above 1280x960, and I doubt you want a huge watermark on your dekstop

Absolutely fantastic!! The dim lights give this picture a somewhat mysterious feel, and the little waterfall is a nice touch, it feels so natural, maybe the water could be a bit more wavy in its surroundings though, but no big deal anyway. Immediate fav!
