Special thanks to:
For fixing script!
For building an awesome Engie workshop!

Engineer on MvM is one of the most important (if not THE MOST important) class. Playing as Engineer requires a great knowledge of the map and chosing right spot to deploy buildings, so it's far more responsible and experience-demanding job than on a normal tf2 mode.

Of course, that also makes every Engineer get a crap thrown at them. The little mistakes they make affect the whole team and may even lead to a failed wave. But the said "mistakes" could also be the whole team's fault. Too many robots passing by, no help with robo-spies or robo-engineers - this all leads to destroyed buildings or Sentry Busters deploying in the middle of the team.

And of course there are those kind of people that think they know better - they're yelling at Engineer to put his buildings in ridiculus places, not even thinking what kind of the result it may bring, while being under a constant fire. And "obviously", if the plan fails, the blame goes on the "unskilled Engie".

In this comic part Sentry wasn't even put in the focus, because on MvM DISPENSER is the most important building. It provides the supprt for the whole line of defense, both by healing and giving a quick access to ammo. And this is crucial for classes like Heavy.
If you gotta move and grab one of your buildings or you have to quickly start a new setup, DISPENSER will ALWAYS have to be your first choice.

About upgrades - Doesn't matter on what mission you are, the very first thing you upgrade is 3x DISPENSER RANGE. You may not feel it yourself, but this thing makes a huge change in the team.
The next things you need is at least one point into Max Metal Capacity. This way, you'll be able to start building both Dispenser and Sentry without a need to search for ammo crates.
Depending from how much money left for upgrades, you have to get as many Building Upgrade Canteens as you can. You will need those like an air on the first few waves, when your buildings are fragile. (In the heat of battle, there's no time to build your stuff with a wrench. That's what canteens are for.)

IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT SENTRY
( Thank you )

"Buying that 3rd Sentry Firing speed upgrade does literally nothing.

In case you aren't aware, Sentry firing speed has been bugged since release.
The first upgrade point gives a 50% firing speed boost.
The second upgrade gives an additional 5% firing speed boost.
The third one gives nothing."
Proof

In the next comic part I am going to explain Engineer's loadout.

Banning someone from the battlefield. Be careful when doing that because in most cases, that leads to +1 cyborg fighting with the robots.

We've all been there. Facing uncooperative and irresponsible teammates. They are so full of themselves with their unusuals and tours. They think they dont have to take responsibility. My advice: leave or kick that team member. They have no idea what expereince really means.

Dear Strict Soldier,
Pyro and Spy are being shunned alot in MVM even though the are supposed to be good picks especially the spy against those heavy robots and my team won't allow me to play them and I get kicked how do I convince them to make play the classes and can you give me tips for them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Menaria In reply to Xzcouter [2014-07-08 18:44:34 +0000 UTC]

Firstly - Pyro is useless on Rottenburg and Mannhattan. So it's good to chose something else on those missions.
Second - Spy is one of the classes that you can either do a good job with, or be terrible at. There is no in-between. People simply don't want to risk giving that class to somebody who don't appear experienced. It's a nasty stereotype that we are dealing with, but you either need to make your Spy look good or have a high tour on Mann Up missions to convince your team to letting you pick a Spy.

That was kinda hard strict. When im engie I let them use my dispencer but im always running to every spot where it is and I get blame because my stuff gets blown. But I ignore what they think because they all think they are all that. I may be a f2p. But dam do I do my job because of you. I learned from you. Your the one that taught me how to be better with your MvM guides

Menaria In reply to TheOutcast93 [2014-07-08 18:33:12 +0000 UTC]

That's another difficulty about being an Engineer - you need to have eyes around your head, son.
And it's good to hear that. You're only doing your team a favor with your experience.

TheOutcast93 In reply to Menaria [2014-07-08 18:41:01 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. But even in victory I am still blamed. And I got that a lot from your members in metal melters. I coudent take their stupidity. I even tried to help by telling them the right weapons but they think I am stupid and say for me to go hid behind my sentry. But I only went to my sentry because it was low or almost gone. But it was the last straw after playing with 5 of the members. Even tho I was the one doing a lot of the work they blame me for 2 rounds lost. So I left metal melters. If they want to lose that's fine. I do my work because I know whats right

OK, I'm kinda torn here:

I don't play Engie, but I know they get a whole ton of shit thrown at them, whether in MvM or not, and it's pretty damn ridiculous.
However, I kinda agree with Strict that sometimes you kinda have to suck it up and work through the hate that's given to you.
They're both kinda stalemating points for me o.o

Menaria In reply to Shye-Bird [2014-07-08 18:31:32 +0000 UTC]

Yup. Engie has the full right to be mad, but he shouldn't go apeshit on teh whole team. People are dying because of his drama ass.

Shye-Bird In reply to Menaria [2014-07-08 18:37:12 +0000 UTC]

Well said, mah friend.

I think both of'em need to calm the **** down, cause you have to admit, Engie might have been really hot-headed, but that was pretty damn harsh of Strict.
