what kind of robin is this? I showed this to my mom and she's like "That's not a robin! What kind of robin is that supposed to be?" I chuckled at her and promised I would ask Where we live the only robin we have is the American Robin; I guess that's the only robin we've ever heard of.

Hi Ashley
Well, in fact, from your point of view you're right: this is the European Robin (as marked in the description). You can find more information here: [link] It is related to the American Robin you guys are familiar with, but not that closely.
I had the luck and chance to meet an American Robin, already once, on my first visit to North America in NYC. Do you see them a lot?

Thank You for the link and information! Here in northern Minnesota we see them a lot in the spring and summer hopping around looking for worms.I've never been to NYC before so I'm not sure about what birds they get. There is one specific one that keeps coming back to our yard that we hear every morning...early morning I had no idea there were other types of robins out there. I've learned something new!
