The Battle of Samahaki District 1 Currently known as The Assault on District 1 or The Battle of District 1 was an engagement in the early years of the Earth Imperial War , that took place on the first day of the Battle of the Sahara during the events of Operation Orbital , which occured hours after the Earth Resistance had destroyed Fort Helios and captured 2 Tyderrium Dropships that were stationed there.
The Assault occured in the early dusk of May 14th, 2024, when an Earth Resistance reconnaissance force that was sent out to scout out for Imperial Reinforcements discovered that the remains of the town, and launched a pre-emptive strike against what was left one of the main Districts of the village of Samahaki .
Despite receiving heavy causalities on both sides, District 1 was liberated by the Earth Resistance , where the puppet Star Wars Human governor Quinrica Sumhal Is killed during the heavy fighting, however an Imperial counterattack occurs from the 878th, forcing the Earth Resistance to flee the ruined town following its temporary fall to the Resistance, leading to only a few refugees actually being able to escape the Imperial onslaught, as the town is eventually reoccupied by the Galactic Empire.
Despite the failed Earth Resistance attempt in reclaiming a small ruined portion of the once large city state of Samahaki, the Galactic Empire proved to be too powerful when it came to holding the destroyed village, along with having too many forces around the area at the time prior to the official Imperial counter attack a day later on May 15th, 2024.
Though the assault to reclaim one portion of Samahaki failed, the event was still seen as a Pyrrhic Earth Resistance victory seeing as the Resistance was actually able to capture the town for a few minutes and killed Governor Quinrica Sumhal before the Imperial counter attack occured that same day.
