Description
After arriving in KageKuni the party finds out the entire story about Ryu and the KuroKage clan.
The clan was once found by a mercenary called the KuroOni. This man stumbled upon a hidden shrine in KageKuni Valley where he found one of the seals of SayoRyu: the Seal of SayoRyu´s wings. The wings developed a own consciousness over the millenia and thus the spirit of the wings was born. The KuroOni tried to forge a pact with he spirit to gain the wings power, but of course the spirit betrayed him and just took over his mind and body. After that he founded the clan to expand his influence. When the spirit realized the limited lifespan of his mortal vessel he planted the seed of darkness into his bloodline to take over a new vessel after the fading of the previous one. Ryu was supossed to become the new KuroOni but his father Hayabusa KuroKage put a seal on him to seperate the spirit from Ryu´s consciousness to prevent him of being taken over. But after experiencing a fight between his father and his grandfather Kumo, the spirit managed to damage the seal and kill Hayabusa.
Hayabusa and Kumo argued about how to lead the clan in the future, while Kumo clinged to the old ways (the typical Ninja ways: Assassinations, Espionage and so on) Hayabusa wanted to change the clans ways to a more positive image. With Hayabusas death Kumo took over leadership until the KuroOni would return. During Hayabusas funeral Kumo proclaimed he would reign the clan with the old ways in Hayabusas interests. Ryu, knowing about this lie, felt the darkness rising in himself and tried to get away from the clan (his scarf got shredded during his run, but he kept wearing it). When his brother Orochi and his childhood friend Hato catched up with him on the coast he tried to get away from them, fearing he could hurt them too, and fell into the ocean. At this point the wing spirit broke free and released the energy of darkness in him. His hair was formerly blue but turned white during this process and his eyetooths grew to small fangs, which is the reason he always covers his mouth behind the scarf. The sudden release of energy caused the spirit to run berserk and so he dashed over the ocean until he got exhausted and splashed into the water.
And so he was later found by Inu. Inus Grandfather taugth him how to keep control over his emotions, and so the spirit stayed trapped behind the damaged seal.
But when Ryu heard the truth about Hayabusas death he fell into despair and the spirit took over control completely, but Ryu regained it after the spirit tried to annihilate the party. After that Ryu and the spirit forged a pact when Melphist invaded KageKuni to gain the wings, and so the spirit initiated the dark force transfomation to fight him. The pact is bound to the condition that Ryu agrees to the spirits actions while the spirit controls their body, and so he is unable to act against Ryus interests.

this is one of my better drawings i guess and it was the first one i made without using fineliners.
