Description
Slowly but surely her disease washed over the land, consuming its once abundant essence of life. The fresh morning breeze died down abruptly, ripped apart by the foul plague winds. The great trees withered without a hint of resistance, as though succumbing to her mere presence. Battling the insatiable urge to trudge forward, she felt; for the first time in months, revitalized. As she looked towards the branches of the dying trees, watching the last remaining speck of life struggle against its inevitable demise; she vowed once more never to feed again.Born into a village ravaged by the plague, Elimrie developed a natural resistance to the fatal disease. She put her immunity to great use, constantly working on developing a cure for her people; many times deliberately infecting herself with the disease in the hope of discovering the system which allowed her body to purge it with such ease. Widely loved and known to her people to be self-sacrificing and kind, Elimrie gained a devout following. She swore to the heavens to develop a cure for the terrible disease, even at the cost of her life.
Her thoughts altered drastically when she was finally infected with an advanced mutation of the disease. Her body could not purge the virus, and for the first time in her life she experienced suffering like no other. She became violent and murderous, screaming and wailing throughout the day in agony, leaving the villagers no choice but to leave her chained alone in a tiny cottage. The selfish desire to free herself alone of the suffering led to a forbidden pact with the fallen-gods.
Within a few days of the pact, she was cured of the disease. Not believing her good fortune, she banged excitedly on the chained door, announcing her health joyously. When the response she expected did not come, a peek out of the window revealed the curse that had been put on her. Her friends and fellow villagers she adored so lay dead and rotting on the parched ground. She would have to feed on the land to sustain her well-being, devouring any life from the surroundings.

What a breathtaking imagery and design! Very inlightened, even if the story is a bit sad.
