HIGH RESOLUTION TEXTURE | RULES OF USAGEFree high resolution! Made from my own material entirely .
So actually I wanted to scrap this, because right after making it, I couldn't stand looking at it. A couple of weeks later, I can barely tolerate it. Sirius-sdz made me publish it. Like he did with many other textures of mine that you wouldn't have seen, if it weren't for him.

For the final look of your texture, how do get the colours how you want them?
I experimented with different layering options and some of those do change the colour depending on the photo, but not exactly into colours I would like for the final look. I tried putting gradients or just a flat colour (and adjusted the opacity and later, blend), but it never looks quite right. Or should I kind of go with the flow and see what happens?

Try color balance! Play around with dark tones, middle tones and light tones and see if that does something for you
I either use that to change the colors or I use the biggest soft brush and place soft color blops on a new layer where I want an accent, then try and see if "overlay" or "soft light" will be useful.
Mostly though I use the Photoshop plugin "Color Efex" as it offers a lot of different filters one can use to manipulate the colors.

These are wise words and very true. There have been a lot of textures that sat on my hard drive for a couple of weeks or months, even. Mostly when I make something that feels so out of line for what I usually do. Good to know I am not the only one who sometimes feels that way
