Oh, I know that problem. For the most of my time at deviantart, I did not have a single point. But now I know there are a lot of ways to get them, for example by taking part in contests. Which I personally never did, since there are not a lot of contests for texture artists

I actually thought about that. And maybe I will! But it has to be a one of a kind thing, something special and that will call for a lot of planning 
Oh, I am sure you will improve! Just never give up. There's a phrase I know that couldn't be more true: "Every champoin was once a contender who refused to give up". And I think everyone has that choice of refusing to give up. It's hard work but it is also what will get you to the top eventually.

i'm sure there's probably more than 20 peeps who make texts in the entirety of Deviantart...heck i could bet for 50. that would be so cool though. it's hard to imagine how it works, because i can't do textures myself xDDD.
yeah, i get that quote owo. and i think everyone has that choice as well. i've nearly given up a few times, but i know how far i've gotten. i actually feel guilty after not drawing after 3 weeks xD. i will continue though. after all, it's within my grasp if i perservere.

You are probably right about that! But maybe I can encourage some others to start making textures. There's so many ways to make textures, the easiest is probably with traditional arts.
Yes, absolutely! Don't feel guilty, everyone needs a break and sometimes you'll need a longer one. Inspiration will come eventually

I was thinking about watercolor textures, paint, something you can create with northing more than colors and paper. I make my textures mostly by photographing interesting structures on the streets and combining and manipulating the photos digitally in Photoshop. Which, at least I think so, is not that easy because spotting and choosing useful structures is harder than one might think. A lot of structures don't work because they are too coarse in texture or because they are not flat enough... There's a lot of criteria going into a texture hunt. That is why I am guessing it might be easier to just take a piece of paper, some water color and experiment

i knew there was always a lot of effort when it comes to making things in art. But i didn't know that's how one could find textures xD thanks for the insight, it's kinda cool!~
we have a scanner at home, i used it for my traditional drawings. god i've digitalized so much to the point where traditional drawing is actually kinda awkward. i bet i can still go for it. heck i even wanted to consider water colors for a while now, but all i have are acyrllic's and sharpier markers at home xDDDD

Nothing to thank for, all my pleasue. Well, in longterm-sight it only gets better. But I also have been frustrated when something doesn't turn out as good as I wanted to. The key is not to let yourself get frustrated, because every creative action, no matter the outcome, will be experience. And experience, long-term, makes great
