Doing its best osprey imitation; I watched this tern repeat this behavior repeatedly. It would "hover" (previous post) for a few seconds maybe 25 feet above the water, (spotting its prey) then fold its wings and go into a vertical dive that takes it below the surface. All of this happening extremely fast.
