Description The title is based on an old,  old church hymn and its seems appropriate. I am once again watching the parent activity as this pair of bald eagles is working on their very old nest and preparing to hatch their young. Last year it was three eagles, the year before - two. I more or less documented their activities in photos, it was challenging given the few enviromental options I had to work with. As the Cottonwood trees start  to leaf out it becomes increasingly difficult to get any kind of decent "window" into their nest activity. The AF sometimes isn't sure what to focus on. It can be difficult to detect branches that coime between my eye and a point on the  subject. My lens and camera get it right more often than you'd might expect. Perhaps it's just luck. This parent (sex I'm not certain) flew in with talons full of "bedding" for their nest. It has to glide/flap carefully up through branches to arrive at the nest. Of course it's done it so often it's like "auto-pilot" for them. If the other eagle (that was nest sitting) was expecting or hoping for food it was sadly disappointed. Not sure if this was repair or soft inner nest lining.
