Description I went to my usual location just outside of town (with an unrestricted view of the horizon) hoping for a good sunset photo recently. Things weren't coming together as I'd wished. However far in the distance I noted steam rising off the farmer's fields just as the sun was setting. I grabbed my telephoto lens and took some shots. I rather liked this one.

I love this picture, it's amazing and perfect, the only thing ruining it to me personally is the electric/phone lines, I'm sure it doesn't bother anyone else, it's just my brain telling me that.. Like I have these amazing sunsets from my window and because of the lines I keep on putting my camera down.

Yes. I'm a perfectionist and I can relate to what you're saying but I've learned to tame those thoughts just a bit over the years. It is what it is and it's still pretty. Would I rather the power lines weren't there? Of course. It's sorta like saying, well that person would be really pretty (or handsome) if it weren't for that mole there or that over-bite, etc. And I've been guilty of taking some of my own "imperfections" (tags and age spots) out of photos of myself. I see you have Photoshop. I can't afford it but would love to have it. With that I could have taken the lines out. But I've learned to be a little gentler with myself when it comes to that kind of stuff. If I only posted my "perfect" shots there might be two photos in my gallery. Ha! lol

Live and learn, that is what life is all about
And one thing is letting go sometimes.. is like my hubby is very helpful and wants to do stuff around the house, before instead of appreciating it, I use to complain that I wanted my dishes put away certain way according to colour and size etc heh he
But I've learned to walk away from kitchen and things when he is in the mood of helping, as when I don't see it won't get to me and I can appreciate it and of course gives him satisfaction of feeling good about himself

p.s. I like removing imperfections from the pics too

Very good. Yes, you've discovered that compromise and gratitude are a winning team.

a  really cool effect... what were the weather conditions?

Had been a warmer than normal November day and fields there had not been planted long ago, whatever was coming up was healthy but still quite low to the ground and there was a lot of brown soil exposed to the sun between the rows. Those fields had held the days heat but the sun was setting and the lack of a heat source was creating these areas of steam rising up. I was some distance away. It's an HDR but with very little "effect" used. Thanks for the collects.
