Description
This is my first proper attempt at rendering a complete scene in Poser. The Medieval Tavern is my own model as is the Tulwar Sword she's carrying. The dress is by Jan 19 and is available in Renderosity's freestuff section.
I'm hoping that if I learn how to use Poser properly it'll improve the models I create. Any comments and critiques are most welcome

Yes it does work in Daz but it doesn't come with any DS mats. Here's one of the reviews on Renderosity for it:
"WOW this is awesome works brilliant in daz 3d so easy to set up so much detail you just dont know what to render first thank you very much"
Hope this helps

I think you've already done a good work! ...perhaps a little more bump/displacement on floor and walls.
...but don't tell me this is your first work.

Thanks very much! It really is my first proper attempt at a complete scene in poser
I agree with the bump on the walls and floor, the current setting is way too weak. Thanks for the advice!

You're welcome!
What version are you using?
...there are some slight differences from P6, to P7 and to P8/P Pro on material settings.

I use Poser 7, I've never been very happy with how my bump maps come out in Poser renders. I think part of the problem is I'm setting them up in 3D Studio and expecting them to come out the same in Poser.

Well... they don't work in the same way and I know 3D Studio is better.
I know Poser 7 very well but I prefer Poser 8, a big step in the right direction!
Bump/displacement is affected from many variables:
- when you build a bump map, in Poser white is positive, black is negative, middle grey (127,127,127 in Poser) is zero.
- most of displacement maps in Poser are build with white is positive, black is zero. Every step between black and white affect object's surface more or less as color intensity is tending to white or black.
I said this because bump/displacement settings may vary considering how bump/displacement maps are created.
I don't know if this could help you or if you already know this...

Oops! ...I've made a little mistake, middle grey is 123,123,123.
