Description Itkovian and the Grey Swords thank you for 10k hits in advance. I've just finished this and I felt like posting it...Couple of hours...those damned tenescowri were a pain!

For those who are unfamilliar with S.Erikson's novels, Itkovian (dude on the horse) is a Shield Anvil of the mercenary group called Grey Swords. (the dudes with shields to the left). Here they defend a part of a city called Capustan against the Tenescowri (which is an army of starving cannibal peasants ). Almost all of the grey swords here got killed, only some of them closed their shields and somehow survived under the mass of tenescowri. Itkovian got stabbed by a knife to the knee and got an axe to the collar bone. Yup, he's a tough guy.

edit: I've done some changes. I think I'll make this one bigger and get into detailing and refining it. I have some nice ideas for it I think.

the books are very good. Be warned though, they're rather long and not easy to read. Lot's of characters and the background/mechanics/rules of the world are explained very rarely, you have to figure most of the stuff yourself. But that's the magic of Erikson's books

BalduranDeArnise In reply to VictorDoUrden [2008-09-28 01:58:31 +0000 UTC]

Oh. The second part - yes. But the first one comes from the Norse god Baldr (Or Baldur, or Balduran), and i used it even before Baldur's Gate

VictorDoUrden In reply to BalduranDeArnise [2008-09-28 14:56:56 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm nevertheless its exactly the same as the famous explorer Baldur who founded Baldur's Gate and so on. Why you into the Norse mythology... it is pretty vast.

BalduranDeArnise In reply to VictorDoUrden [2008-09-29 09:21:47 +0000 UTC]

Well, his name was probably inspired by the mythological Baldur. Just as Oghma was originally an Irish god of knowledge.

Hmmm touchΓ©... just gotta love that old Norse mythology and other ones... either way Oghma for example is just as real as Jesus, Santa, Allah or god... *sigh* The god system works so much more efficiently in Forgotten Realms then in real life. Nowadays people are to stupid to remember more than one imaginary person.

Hehehe, Exactly
At least there you get some cool magic tricks from your god of choice... Or without one, heh.
Plus, FR gods actually did something. I know Bhall did

Hey, wait... SANTA ISN'T REAL? OH NO!!

VictorDoUrden In reply to BalduranDeArnise [2008-10-02 21:38:52 +0000 UTC]

Well actually the gods... well some of them get off their godly asses and do things as for the santa I am not sure.... I heard that there is a man way up there and he changed his name so he gets all those letters every year Γ“.Γ³'
