Description
Feeling all crummy and gross with a cold, I decided to do this as a therapy piece. Prototype Sailor Jupiter, referenced from: [link]Thanks to everyone who tuned in to watch me stream this! Took about five hours, give or take, you can see it on my Livestream site (link in my journal header).

I love how Makoto looks badass and supercharged at the same time with her prototype uniform (which is my faved one) I can't wait to see if you will do a prototype-like for the Outers Senshis and of course Chibi-Usa.

It's based on the original concept drawings. The colors shifted and designs changed over time until a cohesive look was achieved.

Actually, it's different on purpose... if you click the link to the reference picture, you'll see she has green-tinted hair. I chose to make it a little cooler and a little darker because I felt it complimented the rest of the image better.
Please be careful about telling any artist that they "got ______ wrong" in a piece. By the style of this, I clearly wasn't going for an exact copy of the reference material. The colors and style I used and any of the changes I made were *choices* I made. I didn't get these things "wrong," I chose to do them differently. This is something artists do a lot; it's called artistic license. If you're curious about why a color or design element is different, the polite thing to do is ask why they chose to do it that way. You could end up having a very interesting conversation with an artist about their thoughts behind their piece! But telling an artist they've gotten it wrong is likely to make them defensive or hostile, and could potentially create some nasty DA drama.

I always thought that outfit was a little weird.. lol. epesically the skirt part... it looks like it could fall down her legs any mintue, if you know what I mean. then there was the V shape of her skirt angling towards her crotch...

I agree. ^_^; At the very least, the waistband of the skirt should have been thicker. I feel like Jupiter's prototype design made the least sense. It's kind of all over the place, with armor, feathers, buckles, that collar under the collar... still, it's nice to draw the senshi in something other than their traditional fukus.

I might end up doing individual pictures for each senshi, then putting them together as a group. That seems like the best way to go about it.
