I made this for Antoine's birthday because he's a DW fantard who draws blue boxes everywhere. (: His bday was also the airing date of The Angels take Manhattan so I'm gonna talk about that for a bit, spoiler alert from here if you haven't seen it yet.

So I just watched it and honestly to me it is one of the saddest, if not the saddest doctor who episode so far. It begins when River breaks her wrist and fakes she didn't. From there it's all cries after cries, and it escalates towards that really sad ending. To me the saddest part isn't the Ponds' death because they didn't really "die" per say, they died of old age after a long life together. Yes it's sad because they lost their life and everyone they cared about. But they had each other. What really destroyed my heart into small pieces was the doctor. He begged Amy not to follow Rory but she did anyway, I mean how could she not and he bloody knew it but he begged anyway and that hurt, to see him so desperate. They all leave him and the Ponds did too. He promised nothing would happen to them and he broke his promise and now he's alone again and this is so heartbreaking to see him so vulnerable at once. From the start, it's his worst nightmare, to see everyone grow old while he remains the same, ageless and alone. He got worried just when he saw Amy started to have dimples around her eyes and then, it's like everything he feared happened at once, they disappeared and grew old and died before he could ever see them again. That's the true tragedy of that episode in my opinion, not the Pond's fate, but the doctor's.
