~ XylΓ‘ria hypoxylon with an acorn, not a snail! (why does everybody think it's a snail?)
I should add that I didn't arrange the subjects in the picture, I found them that way.
after the warm critique by maletic , I cropped my picture "Hypoxylon and Friend" .
I tried what he suggested, and I totally agree!
To be honest, I never really understood what people liked about the last one, but I love the result of the suggested edit!

Like you I always saw an acorn but showed it to a friend and she saw a snail

It's lovely fungus, very animated and funny to shoot!
I have many of pictures of it as you see in the description,
but my new favourite of it is this one [link] even if it does look very different.
It's how they look after winter. ^^
