Description
~ XylΓ‘ria hypoxylon with an acorn, not a snail! (why does everybody think it's a snail?)I should add that I didn't arrange the subjects in the picture, I found them that way.
after the warm critique by maletic , I cropped my picture "Hypoxylon and Friend" .
I tried what he suggested, and I totally agree!
To be honest, I never really understood what people liked about the last one, but I love the result of the suggested edit!
what do you think?

Like you I always saw an acorn but showed it to a friend and she saw a snail
Maybe it's the imprint it leaves in the brain?

thanks!
It's lovely fungus, very animated and funny to shoot!
I have many of pictures of it as you see in the description,
but my new favourite of it is this one [link] even if it does look very different.
It's how they look after winter. ^^

Thank you! Well, everyone seems to like it, but I see alot of flaws of course. XD

its a splendid photo! flaws are in the eye of the beholder like beauty maybe they see a snail in disguise
the shapes acorn snail can be similar, what an excellent disguise!

only you would know if there was an alternative looks fine to me
don't mind me going on about snails and acorns, there is often a potential story distracting my attention
look at a picture and think of a story

well no. the objects are centered and thats bad,
it makes a picture kind of boring. ^^

Acorns clean up after those messy snails!

yes, of course they do, as do most things. As you well know, it's our sole purpose here on earth, to clean up all the mess the snails are making!
