So there’s a remake of the Little Mermaid coming out soon either in theaters or Disney +, I don’t know which one. And instead of waiting for the movie to be out and then watch it myself just then to write the review, I say,“no. No, I refuse to watch this movie. I’m not gonna do that.” That’s right, I’m going to the James Rolfe: 2016 Ghostbusters route. And, I keep reminding myself, “no, I’m not gonna review it, I’m not gonna watch it, I’m not gonna acknowledge it.” Let me explain and no, it’s not the actress who played Ariel. That’s not my concern at all. We already know that Disney’s live action remakes are trash. And If you read my review on 2022 Disney Pinocchio, you know what’s up. When I first saw the trailer, nothing too extreme came up in my mind except, this could be another cash grab. I didn’t care that much. But as soon as I watch the second trailer that drops, I have to put my foot down. First off, the trailer looks dead. It’s unamusing, I know. It’s just that it’s so bland to look at and uninteresting to point it out even if it's slightly colorful. Second, the design on Sebastian looks more like Mr. Krab, no more no less. Oh, and Crab Rave, enough said. And third of all, Somebody from the Disney company looks at Scuttle and changes his gender. No really, they actually did it by changing Scuttle from a male seagull into a female diving bird. I can go on forever on what’s wrong with this remake. I’m telling you if I’m going to watch the Little Mermaid, I’m better off watching the 1989 version. Because there’s no point in watching this remake. The original Disney version shows that they care about the story, they care about the characters, they care about the visual of the story. There was some much care put into the film. And yet, Disney is taking the film that is perfectly fine and changing it. Now I’ve seen other bad Disney movies before, but this isn’t just your average Disney movie. This is a beloved classic movie. And what’s worse, you got the new generation Disney fans that they may not know that the original existed before the remake.

Before I end off my non-review, there’s a rumor going on that Disney might consider making a live action remake of the Princess and the Frog which is enough evidence to see that Disney is running out of ideas and clearly cares for money. God I hope this rumor is false.
