I have to say that I'm not requesting an happy ending: I'm not writing this amazing comic.

It was kinda a joke (because I love talking with the authors, or just hope for them to enjoy my comments).

If my comment was misunderstood, I'm sorry.

And I hope you don't think I'm one of those "Readers that just kept on buggling him about this comic needing a happy ending."

Metal-kitty, I'm also sorry if you thought I was one of them. Keep doing what you planned

Yes, finally! She gets the blame instead of blaming others.
Seriously, secrets are never good unless it was made to prevent the destruction of others.
Since this is the destruction of herself, then the secret is bad.

Well, Her destruction is to prevent the destruction of all unicorns and those that would die under the spell. So, by your logic it's still a good secret.

I don't know, but I definitely wouldn't bet against it.

Wonder when Big Mac's gonna toss HIS 2 bits in on this, and tell them that HE'S planning the same things as Twilight?

Drakenhof In reply to ??? [2015-02-25 11:18:57 +0000 UTC]

Another pony who needs a hoof in her face. Anyway, what AJ expected her to do? If Twilight have told them, Rainbow or AJ would be the first ones to offer themselves as sacrifices (well, maybe not AJ, because she has a family to care for), and they would be in the same situation. Starflare is the "obvious" sacrifice, but he is too damn obssesed in doing all he alone and without help, that in the case he fails, there would not be a "b" plan. Big Mac is not going to sacrifice himself; when AJ knows why is he there (in the next page, probably), she is going to kick his flank back to the farm. Celestia could fit, but she is too weakened and wouldn´t resist a fight. So I think there are only two options: Luna, or Starflare if he learns to cooperate and puts aside all his guilt and shame.

Put for the sacrifice a pony who nobody loves. Diamond Tiara, for example xD

I would like to call back to a previous comic (I can't remember the exact number) but I believe I clearly recall Celestia saying that Starflare isn't able to sacrifice himself, meaning as such that he doesn't have the strength to take on Harvest to get the crown to make the sacrifice happen. I mean if he lost to Twilight and her friends, I doubt he has a snowball's chance in Tartarus to get even close to Harvest.

WHY DOES EVERYONE FORGET CELESTIA ESSENTIALLY SAID THAT SO THAT'S WHY TWILIGHT IS TRYING TO GET THROUGH STARFLARE? XD

Drakenhof In reply to GogglesPizano [2015-03-02 11:44:37 +0000 UTC]

Because in this comic in particular, is easier to emphatice with Starflare, than with Twilight. Both are essentially making the same mistakes for the same cause, but Starflare is tormented and cryes a lot. That´s why he is seen as a tragic hero, and Twilight just a selfish dumb pony.

For me, both are dumb, but Starflare is much worse, because all his plan to defeat Harvest is completely insane.

GogglesPizano In reply to Drakenhof [2015-03-02 18:54:29 +0000 UTC]

Yeah pretty much. But more often than not sentient beings are selfish, and really I see Twilight's play as smart considering what is needed to be done to save the world. After all, they all care about each other and probably wouldn't be able to bare seeing one of their own volunteer to die and it would end up in a squabbling match that would waste time.

I mean, what would they do about the sacrifice thing if the whole group new? Play rock paper scissors to see who doesn't die? XD

Drakenhof In reply to GogglesPizano [2015-03-02 19:11:24 +0000 UTC]

Yep, that´s the point im trying to defend. Twilight didn´t say anythig because she knows her friends, and AJ and Rainbow more than any other, will be disposed to sacrifice themselves as much as her, and they would waste time, tears and useless infighting deciding who will be the one. Just what Starflare has already done.

I can understand AJ too; she (and they) has the right to know, but it´s not time for sentimentalism right now.

GogglesPizano In reply to Drakenhof [2015-03-03 02:55:58 +0000 UTC]

Ohhhh, yeah I dunno if that came through on what you wanted to say (I think? It didn't seem that way but maybe I didn't read your stuff carefully).

And yeah, it's the need of the many over the need of the few scenario.

I feel as though I wish AJ were played a bit more differently in this comic book though. Like, I feel even though she sort of takes charge she seems to be doing the least in a sense or maybe how I would interpret her is just a different look.

Although "Plan B" would PROBABLY include a pony that I actually DO care about.

There is also Harvest himself. And once again you forget the fact that Twilight is the real villain in this case and not Harvest. She is tryin to off hersel permanently to redeem the fact that she faked her death. While Harvest actually have a lot of past sins that is actually his responsibility to make right. And not by having someone else die for it.

AJ has all the right in the world to be angry.

Drakenhof In reply to valkyria20chronicles [2015-02-25 12:58:00 +0000 UTC]

Twilight has the same problem Starflare has: both want to sacrifice themselves due to guilt and shame, and both have done wrong things to accomplish that.  The difference between them is Starflare doesn´t need to hide it because:

1) Nopony cares if he sacrifices himself, except his daughter and Celestia

2) He thinks he is powerful enough to fight Red Harvest alone, so he doesn´t need to lie to anypony to help him.

3) He is much more reckless than Twilight. Twilight has just lied to her friends; Starflare has planned a full conspiration to do that, including betraying friends, kidnapping Chrysalys, playing two sides, and transform himself into a monster.

Twilight is just dumb; Starflare is totally unhinged

(and I think you are mistaking Starflare with Red Harvest)

valkyria20chronicles In reply to Drakenhof [2015-02-25 13:29:26 +0000 UTC]

Wrong.

1. Anyone who knows the truth about Starflare would care if he sacrifices himself.

2. He IS powerful enough. He is far more powerful than Twilight who has already nearly killed Harvest.

3.There is no "just" to what Twilight is doing. She lied to her friends so they uknowingly would help her kill herself to redeem her faking her own Death. Which is pure stupidity

The most terrible things that happened by Starflare was because of the monster inside him, aside from that the most terrible he has done is to himself by making himself into a monster. The other things he has done was merely putting on an act and kidnap Chrysalis in order to protect her and get more powers to ensure he gets Harvest.

You are right, Twilight is being dumb. But Starflare is not unhinged. He has been absolutely right this whole time. Comparing the two, Twilight is the villain.

And no im not mistaking Starflare and Harvest. Metal Kitty himself has confirmed the possibility of Harvest himself being a sacrifise.

Drakenhof In reply to valkyria20chronicles [2015-02-25 14:29:38 +0000 UTC]

1. But who knows the truth about Starflare? Him, Celestia, his daughter (barely) and the 6 mane. And Harvest, but he doesn´t care about it.

2. He THINKS he is powerful enough. More than Twilight alone? Maybe, but she actually canceled his transformation. More than Harvest? He doesn´t know; we are talking about a centuries old sorcerer who has the skill of changing bodies, and who is in the peak of his power and knows they are going to try to stop him; he is prepared and knows what he is going to face. Maybe he is not powerful enough to beat Harvest him alone, and in that case, his sacrifice will be a waste. He can´t do it alone; is reckless and insane. Must have a "b" plan.

3. Don´t compare what Twilight has done with Starflare actions. Starflare has been much more reckless and machiavellian. He even recognize he betrayed his best friend and send a monster against the 6 mane. And kidnapping someone and steal her energy is not a little thing either.

No one of this two is the "villain"; the villain is Harvest, who is the one who wants to annihilate thousands of lifes due to a nihilistic desire to die, and who has been ruining lifes since centuries. But comparing the two, Twilight is just being dumb and selfish, while Starflare doesn´t have any remorse in doing whatever he thinks neccesary to accomplish his goal, even if it implies hurting more people. That´s being unhinged, even if he is right and his goal is righteous.

valkyria20chronicles In reply to Drakenhof [2015-02-25 16:51:57 +0000 UTC]

1. Thank you for proving my point. People who know the truth care about wether he dies or not.

2. He IS powerful enough to beat him. He has studied Harvest and done all of these things to himself in order to be able to face him in open battle.

And for some reason you still ignore the fact that Twilight already nearly killed Harvest.

3. I do. What she is doing is way worse. She is using her friends to reach her own stupid goal, while majority of Starflares actions was because of the monster inside him. All the time he has tried to protect everyone.

4. Out of these two TWILIGHT is the villain. And dont say he has no remorse when he is crying at this very moment. He did not want to do any of the bad stuff.

you know... as much as this is being talked about... how many people stop to think... "would I sacrifice myself to save everyone I care for and love? what about everyone who has not had the privilege to really live a life... to experience life?"

I would like to think I would do what Twilight is doing... though yes Twilight may be doing this for the wrong reasons but its not the wrong thing to do in my mind.

So, AJ, I ask you... would you sacrifice yourself to save Applebloom, Big McIntosh or Granny Smith? yes I know she would want to find another way first but what if there was no other way?

I bet that the moment Twilight tries to sacrifice herself to Harvest, ALL the residents of Ponyville stand up for her in a Spartacus-escue scene; "I'm Twilight." "No, I'm Twilight!" "No, I'M Twilight!" You get the idea.
