Why does Spike need a gasmask when he goes Pyro? If you can breathe fire, inhaling smoke can't exactly affect you, right?

"You want me to use the Crossbow!?  Spike, have you been in the medicine cabinet again?  You know I only use that for Freak Fortress."

Has anyone ever offered to turn these into animations/ SFM videos? I think they would look great!

People have said they should be, but to date, nobody has ever actively made them into SFM videos. :C I'd be so happy if someone did tho. XD

As far as that goes, I'm capable with SFM, and I know that someone made ponies in TF2 costumes as a Source model, but there are three big problems:

1) The models don't match your character - class combos at all. Flutters is Medic, Twi is Sniper, Zecora is Demo, and Pinkie is Pyro.

2) These models were made on a really old pony skeleton that had only one spinal bone and no IK rigs. Regular pony models have been updated, but I don't know how to fix these.

3) No robots. D:

1) I know this one - I've been trying to get someone's help on making my versions as models, but no luck so far. XD Ah well.

2) I have no idea what any of this means

3) Darn

2) I basically mean the models are outdated and are way harder to work with than the current non-TF2 models that brony animators are using.

For future reference:

A model's skeleton is its framework. TF2 models have a pelvic bone, two bones per leg, 4 spine bones, etc. It's basically what people use for model posing. And one spine bone is hard to work with.

IK rig = a method of model animation that disables parent bones. For an analogy for that, your upper arm is the parent of your wrist - its movement directly ties to the other's movement, but not the other way around. For example, if I had to pose scout's hand pointing, I'd have to adjust each bone to the right position with rotating. With an IK rig, I can select his hand, drag it forward, and the rest of his arm bends in an anatomically correct way. This is essential for simple movements and walk cycles, so not having one for your model makes animation near impossible.

TL;DR it's hard to use these models.

Well, in recent news, I remember that the Equestria Fortress models - the outdated ones I mentioned - came with cute little props (ex. pony-sized Sniper's hat and sunglasses, pony sized Soldier's helmet' etc.) that I can attach to the new easier-to-animate not-wearing-mercenary-costumes ponies.

We're lucky the addon included them, because they can partially clear up 1) and 2).

I actually was interested in learning how to use SFM; I might be able to get ahold of some models and do that. It would take some time, and probably not be done until well into 2014, however.
