Yeah, I don't see Twilight as a sniper for this reason and she seems to prefer being a heavy hitter in combat, rushing enemy units. Sniper is more for a job of a war away kill rather then a direct one. Its probably the less bloody compared to the other class where they eaither decapitate or beat to a bloody pulp, burn them, or turn their enemies into grind meet with how violent their guns can be.

I favor Twilight as Medic for a few reasons.Β It just fits her better as a character of magic.

It's not merely the 'closeness' I'm aiming for, so much as I am trying to attain certain 'traits' of the characters.Β I wanted to capture their spirits rather than some beloved fandom stereotype.
Twilight's not just smart, she's a mage.Β This doesn't just mean she has magic, but that she is versed in a wide variety of sciences, history, philosophy, the kind of stuff the Sniper just doesn't capture.
Applejack is not just a southern accent, she's a strong, sturdy pony.Β She can think on her feet and is more than capable of handling herself in a brawl.
Pinkie is crazy, but she's not stupid.Β She's methodical, multi-talented, and loves to bring toys to the party.
Fluttershy loves animals and nature, and cares for them as a result - rather than latch onto 'Fluttershy the healer' I focused on 'Fluttershy the beastmaster'.

For me it's not that she can't be the Sniper, it's more that the Sniper is underselling her.Β Twilight can do these crazy, amazing things with her magic, whereas the Sniper is very subdued and all he has to define him is his shooting ability.
It's also a question of intelligence.Β The Medic and the Engineer are undeniably smarter, use more advanced technology (that they build themselves), and both seem to have a broad understanding of multiple sciences, as compared to the sniper who is kind of summed up with gun math.

The original match says more about the fandom than it does the actual characters themselves, really.Β Applejack is Engineer because accent.Β Pinkie is Pyro because of the infamy of the Cupcakes fan fic.Β Fluttershy is Medic because people like her being the cute healer.Β They're designed to appeal to the fandom rather than actually match the characters.
And we fans are basically idiots.Β We often love these stereotypes more than we love the actual characters themselves.

Let's be honest, the only reason anyone can imagine Applejack is the Engineer is because of her accent.Β I mean, if the TF2 Engineer were German instead of Texan, would you still see Applejack playing that class?
And honestly I could see Pinkie Pie as the Demoman - probably more than I could see her as the Engineer even - but at the same time I despise the idea of putting Applejack in that role because the Engineer himself is quite weak.Β I mean, you ever play Engineer in Medieval Mode?

I don't  agree it's because i can imagine her in some scenes in the comic. I could NEVER imagine Pinkie in this part www.teamfortress.com/loosecano⦠but i can imagine Applejack. Also of course Pinkie doesn't fully fit as Pyro. That's for sure. But the reason she slightly fit is not because of Cupcakes but because of her girlish behaviour as Pyro has. If he wasn't a psychopat Pinkie would fit. Twi as medic fits however. But Fluttershy doesn't fit none of these classes.

Actually, I could see Pinkie doing that.Β Is it uncharacteristic of her? Yes, but that's in the same manner of saying it's uncharacteristic of her to be angry at all.Β The Pyro is not much better - its basically quiet and never talks in the comics.Β In terms of personality, the Engineer is a genius.Β He has a favorite math equation for crying out loud.Β Does she look like the kind of pony that would conduct teleporter experiments to you?
Either way, this isn't just a matter of personality - it's a matter of what he does.Β Without his sentry he's only as powerful as the Medic in a direct fight and has the lowest HP of any class (tied with Scout, Sniper, and Spy).Β The Engineer is heavily dependent on his gadgets, which doesn't exactly shout 'Applejack' to me at least.

Medieval Mode was one of those things I considered myself.Β In fact, originally I wanted to make my entire "Meet the Team" series based on Medieval Mode because that's about the level of tech the ponies (normally) have, but decided against it.

Degroot Keep.Β Basically, the classes lose their guns (with the exception of Medic's Crossbow and the Sniper's Huntsman) and it's more of a melee fight.
Incidentally, there's a chat parcer that changes some words around, and even class names.Β Among the Medic's alternate names like 'Wizard' and 'Witch-Doctor', and among the Sniper's is 'Beast Master'.

The Medic additionally has unethical human experimentation on top of that.
