Yep, this is Torakichi of the Ninja-ken, who has somehow managed to kidnap Sheng-Long of the MAS.

I do think I like this version, better. One thing I have noticed about the photos of the real dogs is that most of them seem to have the stripes on their backs tilted toward their hindquarters rather than the front. More like a 'V' on their backs then an "/\."

Yep! If you look at them from the side, the stripes are pointing backward.

Tora isn't one to gloat, so I don't think he would say anything. What I think Sheng Long would be saying is: "WMMF IHF GFF OUF UF THFF, AHLF RFF YRF PLFF OFF" ("When I get out of this, I'll rip your PELT off!")
I figure it started out at range and Sheng was able to cut Tora's bowstring, and he had no time to restring it in the heat of battle. When the fight got to close quarters, Tora's clothes / battle gear got so shredded he yanked what was left of them off so Sheng wasn't able to have anything to grab on. When he wasn't weighed down, he was even more agile than the bigger tiger.

That's cool... and heh, I imagined that after Tora manages to tie up and gag the tiger, he suddenly hears clapping, and turns to see none other than Roger, seated a safe distance away.
Tora: You mean you were THERE the whole time!?

Tora: Y'know, I wouldn't have objected to any help. That 'evil sensory' thing of yours' would have come in handy, y'know.
Roger: I know it would have, but that's actually why I didn't help in the first place.
Tora: Come again?
Roger: My sensory allows me to predict all the future moves of evil-doers, right? So I was able to predict that Sheng would end up becoming defeated, so I realized there was no need for my assistance.
Tora: ...Oh. Still, you could have come and helped anyway, probably would have spared me the trouble of having my uniform get all shredded - IIIIII seeeeee....

I explained in the first pic I uploaded tonight that all this while, I've been coloring Tora wrong. I thought this whole time that he was just a normal Akita like Tsunami, but then ToonTorment informed me that Tora is an Akita Brindle. He thought I knew that this whole time, but didn't know how to draw the stripes, so he never complained.
But yes, that is the reason for his name.
And rofl, yes, it is amusing to see Sheng being pwned like that. I'm so glad you enjoyed this!
