I drew this back in 1990. They are drawn from a photo in a library book of a group of Cumbrian farmers. It was done as a practice exercise in pencil and ended up being one of my favorite drawings, and is a late addition to my older pieces as I was hesitant to take it out of the frame to scan it. Hope you like it

Well, thank you. If you like realistic portrait images you should check out phoenirius - now that's amazing. The celebrity expressions can be a little dry but the pencil work is incredible.

I'm so glad you like this one. It was their expressions that drew me to this picture in the first place and although the mouth is slightly off on the guy on the right ( I got so caught up in the clothing I didn't see that until too late) I was really pleased with it. The little guy looks so pissed off - I would be too if I had to stand out on the cold damp hills of the Lake District (this is near where I'm from).
