The red panda is sort of a cat bear hybrid. nearly a bear speciesThe binturong is also basically a cat bear hybrid. but its part of the same family as ferrets...
We need to just call it a blue panda imo and together they make the most fluffiest team ever

Binturongs are part of the Viverrid group....which is basically the catty version of the Mustelids..the "Cat like" and "Dog like" family lines are heavily blurred I must say

Aw man awesome, I just found out about this Binturong a while ago, and well, it's appearently also called a "bear-cat" in finnish (karhukissa), while red panda is called a "cat-bear" (kissakarhu).

Awesome but Binturongs are in the family of viverridae and ferrets are in the family of mustelidae.

Actually red pandas and ferrets are closer to each other than either of them is to binturongs. Binturongs are actually closer to cats. Red pandas and ferrets are closer to bears.

l know someone who would dispute that entirely, do you see my reasoning now to why we should just call it a blue panda, animal kingdom. makes no sense
