My awesome Spartan of DOOM!!!
One of the few times where I have a somewhat propper background... how cool is that yo! The weird thing about this one is that I never really intended on finishing it when I started it a while back before all the rubbish with my pc.
Then a about two nights back when everything was finally up and running the way they should be, while my lady was kicking ass in Titan quest, I wanted to paint but was too lazy to start something from scratch. I looked through my WIP's and found this.
I really like how this turned out, esspecially that shield.

this has great definition and tone. i really like the sun burning from over his head and the shadowing was done well. overall this was done really good.

Whats the biggest brush size you used?
Cuz I tried working with a image on a 10,000 X 7,000 scale & any brush I used that was bigger than a 100 lagged when ever I used it to smudge.
So, I'm guessing it must have taken you an insane amount of time?

Not long, start to finish about +/- 6hours. I don't smudge, unless I use the Liquifier to change positioning. Plus, also has to do with how strong your computer is.

You used yourself as reference I see.
Generally the images you tend to start off as a sketch, experiment, unfinished etc. often turns out they're the best stuff a guy can draw.
