It was a known theme in Dexter's Lab
for Dexter to have a "pretty female" accompanying him
while he worked on whatever scienific experiment that he was occupied with.
Since Dee Dee is gone (killed during Mandark's latest attacks on Dexter's Laboratory)
Dexter needed a new "female muse" to keep him focused on his scientific work.
and, who better to fill that role than Blossom??
Okay, i guess the first thing you are all noticing is the way i drew Blossom.
Well, like Dexter
i am using an art style which is a cross between the Traditional Cartoon Style
AND, the more realistic anime art style (like FusionFall or PPGD)
I kept Blossom's PPG-esque "large eyes"
but, gave her visible ears and a nose.
despite the change, she is still Blossom of the Powerpuff Girls.

Let's just say that one of Dexter and Mandark's battles took a turn for the worst

Well, Dexter must've been scared as well as Mandark

The event dramatically changed the two boys in different ways..
Dexter became more brooding (almost like 'Bruce Wayne/Batman')
started spending even more of his time in his lab, and using his old 'Dex-Star' superhero persona
to vent his frustrations upon the criminals of Townsville (as the PPG fight crime BEFORE bedtime, not after.)
Mandark. however..took a turn for the worst.
refusing to admit it was his fault, he shifted the blame of Dee Dee's death on Dexter.
his sanity pretty much degraded, and he became even nuttier than The Joker.
disappearing for quite some time, before reappearing as an "Agent of Chaos and Anarky"
Mandark's skills was enough to impress Mojo Jojo,
who not only supported Mandark's activities, but aided him with his own weapons and technology as well.
(Plus, for his own reasons: Mojo hates Dexter, too)

Dee Dee:hi dexter
Dexter: GRRRRR, that's it i've had it with you alway's being in my lab, and I'm sick of you bothering me GRRR
Dexter pounds on the table wich makes a potion tube fall on the floor the cork pops open and it spills all over a cord and then the cord is all sparked up with electricity and dexter tries to unplug it but gets badly shocked and then he backs up and bumps into a machine button wich shoots a gigantic blade and it aims right at Dee Dee and cuts right through her pinning her to the ground and she starts bleeding all over

I am sure many would love that scenario.
But, Dexter is never one to express how he REALLY feels openly.
and, i thought it would be funny to have Dexter be..well, you know: DEXTER.
Luckily for him, Blossom isn't one to stay away for very long.
like Dee Dee, she is persistant.
