Colored Version: metroxlr99.deviantart.com/art/…Didn't think i'd be drawing in THIS style, again..but, Here I am.
Anyway, this is a "Pony Version"
of an emotional story point of my Equestria Girls Crossover Fiction: "Beyond Life and Death"
where Twilight Sparkle falls in love with a boy who eventually dies of cancer.
But, BEFORE he surcomes to his fatal disease..Twilight become pregnant with his child.
shortly after his death, Twilight gives birth to a son
who remarkable looks almost Exactly like his late father
(to which Twilight decides to name her only child after him.)
The purpose of this drawing is 'Emotion'.
while Twilight is happy to be a mother, she misses her love terribly
and, can't help but despare that her son will NEVER know his father.
Despite using reference to get some "animal anatomy" right
I find drawing horses to be ALOT easier than drawing humans (Ironic, isn't it??)
I also compare this type of art to Disney's 'The Lion King' and 'Bambi'
in that I am drawing stylized/semi-realistic animals with human emotions
I probably made a few errors.
so, I apologize for that in advance (I'm still pretty new at this type of Fanart.)

In my Fanon, Another Stallion DOES help Twilight raise her colt after his father dies.
Course, you are free to interpret who that is all you want.
be it the canon Flash Sentry, or some other OC (for You, I am guessing 'Harmony Star')

Unfortunately, there are scores of "FlashLight" fans who disagree.
due to both Twilight and Flash having a liking for each other in 'Equestria Girls'
so, nearly every MLP fan and their Brother are shipping them on the grounds that it's "real"
Personally, It doesn't really matter to me.
I've watched Star Trek, I know of the "Parallel Universes" theory.
It doesn't really matter if Twi is with Flash, Harmony or Alex: It's ALL Real, as far as I am concerned.
which is why I like your Harmony Star Artwork.
(even though I have my own Twilight Shipping preference.)

Funny..I've been getting a lot of comments regarding the Emotion in Twilight's Eyes.
well, Yes: The purpose of this drawing was to convey Emotion.
show that the Pain in Twilight's eyes, and the blissful innocence of her sleeping foal.
It helps to remember that Twilight's Colt looks exactly like his deceased father.
so, just looking at him reminds Twilight of the love that she lost
(which is something she both Treasures, yet despairs over)
on the bright side, Twilight won't be entirely alone.
Remember, she has Five good friends and Spike supporting her
(although, none of them can possibly substitute a father to a son.)
but, her main concern is the day her son asks about his father.
because she knows that question will be difficult to answer.
But, really the success of this image lies in words being unnecessary to explain the situation.
Just looking at the baby beside Twilight, and her pained expression.
and, you just know what she is thinking (and, feel the urge to hug her.)

that is so sad! I know what that's like, I lost my brother a while back, and now my child, if I ever have one, will never know their uncle. I do still wonder what the fourth season's gonna be like though.

It also hints at a possible "Pony Version" of my humanized storyline.
Given my concept of Parallel Universes
(and, the "Mirror Portal" gimmick, and Lyra Heartstrings, that kinda thing is probable)
Whether a Horse or a Human, the image of a widowed Twilight
raising a fatherless child is meant to be emotional, and tug at one's heart strings.

Twilight: I feel sorry he lost his father before he was born. It might not be easy for me to be a single mother. But Kitty's a single mother for 4 children in her own world.

my commentary would go something like this..

Twilight: "he's gone..my love is gone from this world.
and, yet..when I look at our little foal.
I can't help but feel like he's come back to me in some way.
almost as if he's been "reborn"
but..I know that can't possibly be so.
my colt may look like him, but he isn't him.
and..then there's The Promise.
that vow I made to him as he died.
I'll never forget it as long as I live.."
(("t-t-twilly..promise me.
take..take care..of our child."))
Twilight: "I promised him I would..that's why I'm not giving him up for adoption.
he's my son..OUR Son.
and, I swear that I'll be the BEST Mother than I can be.
I'll protect him, teach him, give him a good life.
he's really all I have left of him, now."
