Description
"Let's face it, these people are all Loons, and they'll just get revenge on us if we fire them."-----
If you ever watched the episode "The Great Dime Chase",
then you know that this joke isn't all that far from the truth.
Ms. Quackfaster went from Scrooge's secretary to a repressed psychopathic librarian
who will chase down anyone with overdue book with a broadsword.

She stole that line from Joker in “The Dark Knight Returns”.
Also, along with “Get revenge possibly if fired”, there’s “find it hard to get a new job with her work history”. I believe Scrooge is wise to keep them in his employment since only someone as “mad as the loons working for him”, like Scrooge in this case, would hire them
It’s noble as well for Scrooge to argue and defend for his workers’ employment. Shows what a good boss he is, best shown in this quote by Scrooge McDuck to Lauchpad: “Where else am I gonna find a driver as crazy and dangerous as I am?”

Yeah, it says something about Scrooge when he argues to keep someone on a payroll.
Not sure why he even has advisers when most of the time he's fighting with them.
(But, it IS funny how he makes them spend money on a velvet pillow for an ordinary dime.)
Another example of Scrooge having respect for his employee's is how the series introduced Duckworth.
"Scrooge McDuck hasn't had a birthday party since his butler died."
This implied Scrooge mourned his servant's death (maybe even buried him on the mansion grounds.)
and was quite delighted when he returned as a ghost.
