Description Just Yumi and Ulrich under a blossoming cherry (or Sakura) tree. Both are fast asleep after studying and working hard on their homework together. Schoolwork can be really tiring, you know. ^_^

This was supposed to be my Valentine's Day contribution. But I didn't finish it in time. Oh well.

What really took a lot of time was drawing and coloring in each cherry blossom petal. It took an excruciatingly long time, but this picture was far worth the effort. Those two are my favorite characters and I had to do something special for them for Valentine's Day...even though I missed the deadline because of all the details. I also found it really hard to draw them sleeping. A person's face is generally peaceful in sleep, and that's a really hard emotion to portray. And I certainly didn't want them looking lifeless. School's exhausting, but not that much. ^_^

I'm really happy with this picture. I just hope my scanner didn't kill the colors I worked so hard on. Either way this is my tribute to my most favorite CL couple. Happy (belated) Valentine's Day, you two. (And to all of you, of course.)

Oh...I think I actually saw this one on the official site for fanart! I love it but then I had no idea it was you! Brilliant pic....scanner still broken. So sad too. I know I'm late but... Anyways, I agree with SamBlob on the parts about Ulrich's head but I still think you draw him rather well. Especially his face! Facial expressions drive me crazy! I call myself a master at his hair because I can do that pretty well but grr to his face. And props to you for making such a great picture! I think the petals landing on their books adds a nice touch! Go Mew!

Anyhow, another great picture!

Yep! I entered this one and "Train Ride" in two separate fanart contests at CL.com. "Train Ride" eventually won me one of the contests, but I'm glad you like "Study Session"! Ulrich and Yumi are my favorite couple (with J/A a close second). They're fun to draw together, because I don't have to draw them being overly romantic (which I'm kind of bad at...). Just them spending time with each other always makes me feel fuzzy during the show. ^.^

But anyway, thank you so much for your kind words. I have tried really hard to improve my poses since this pic, as Ulrich in this one was a big "learning curve". But in all seriousness, really, thank you kindly! I'm glad you liked the petals especially!

Ulrich's hair is fun to do, indeed! You just mop it in and voila! Not like Odd's hair...which continues to confound me to this day. Thanks for the compliments on the expressions too!

Thanks! Yeah, Ulrich's not too big on studying...although I'm guessing this is slightly a better way to study, with the alternative being studying in his dorm room, with Odd dancing and singing around and distracting him. This is much more quiet...and relaxing.

I know... but that form of studying with Yumi can lead to other things you wouldn't draw, depending of their hormones and hornyness... don't you think so?

*blushes* Well...that wasn't really what I was going for. I was sort of going for the, "They've been battling XANA all week, and there's still that stupid exam at the end of the week. Time for cram studying, but they're way too exhausted to even look at the books, let alone study." That kind of thing...

Yeah... on "Routine" Ulrich said something about "we battled XANA like 5 times in this week"... got some bit of memory from CL Season 1... bad thing about it is that it only can be seen on mornings...

I'll try...although I kind of doubt my cable provider will have it though. I've checked the brochure of channels they offer with better services many times, and the only ones I've ever seen from LatinAmerica are food and teledrama related. My cable service is so lame.

Cable service in Peru sucks!! I don't have those important ones: NBC, ABC, CBS, CN (there's a CN version in spanish, but it's not the same thing, no CL and other shows) and other USA channels!! Cable MΓ‘gico (cable operator I use, and most of the peruvian country) took them away years ago... and other cable services don't have them.

Cable MΓ‘gico is better because of having Mtv, and other movie channels, as well as other kind, at least I can see the Copa Libertadores and the Champions League.... and I'm lucky to still have Jetix... but lately, I barely watch CL, I'm on classes while it shows (at 10:30am)... bad, huh?

That does sound pretty bad. I guess I really shouldn't be complaining at all. That's a bummer about CL's playing time too. It always seems that the best shows are on early in the morning! Drats. Well, maybe they'll change the time at some point to a better playing time for you. Here's hoping.

That's really pretty... I love the blossoms falling everywhere, they add a nice (and sort of romantic) touch to the picture.

Ulrich and Yumi have such a great relationship. They're just the kind of friends to have out under a beautiful tree on a warm day and fall asleep together. ^_^ Great job!

Thanks!! ^_^ I love the Y/U relationship simply because you can either draw them being best friends or being romantic (or both at times) and it always comes out cute (one can do the same with Jeremie and Aelita). The blossoms gave me quite a hard time, but I like how they came out; I love cherry blossoms. Thanks again!

Ulrich, OTOH, looks like he's fallen out of the tree. His head is at a very unnatural angle for someone who's asleep. If the effect was supposed to be that he was resting his head on the books, it didn't work. It looks more like he's supporting his upper body on his arms and is craning his head upright trying to look ahead of him.

Sorry if I sound harsh, but that's what it looks like to me.

You were right. I was trying to make it look like he was sleeping on the books. I probably should have drawn them more 3D stack-like. That way maybe it would look more like the side of his face was resting on them. Oh well. Live and learn.
