his words were along the line of this film started as an Alien's prequel then evolved into something all on it's own
so apparently now it has nothing to do with Alien

i heard the same, but i also heard theyre gonna tie it to how the xenomorphs came into existence and focus mainly on the space jockeys

Ridley's word were more specifically on it being it's own universe towards the end of the interview and I went from fanboy heaven to fanboy hell D:
