Okay… I would like to make a speech thing… ABOUT THIS MOVIE “THE LAND BEFORE TIME.”
Without this movie, I literally would not be sitting here drawing today. When I first began drawing, all I drew were dinosaurs and creatures— HEAVILY inspired by this movie… and now when I look back at this movie, I just appreciate the animation and art of it more. I know it’s an old movie, so the quality isn’t the most HD-ish thing in the world, but whenever I look at the movements and expressions, it’s just soooo WELL DONE AND PHENOMENAL LIKE .. I CAN’T. As for the land before time series that came after the original movie, they cannot compare.
This will sound weird, but the death of Littlefoot’s mother is my favorite scene of the entire movie as well as whenever he somehow spiritually communicates to his mother through his heart. I know that it’s a really sad scene, but when I watched this when I was like 4-5, it was probably the first time in my entire life I actually remember feeling emotions when watching a film. Many animated films I’ve watched inspired me artistically when I was a kid, but this was one of the first scenes I’ve probably ever watched in any animated film that actually made me feel sick to my stomach. Back then, I always rewinded back to this scene several times just to get that kick of emotion because it was something I did not feel often. I really LOVED the way the movie was able to leave an emotional impact on me, even if it was really depressing because I was able to feel SOMETHING on an emotional level just from watching this movie. To be honest, this movie also probably gave me a greater understanding about death, mourning, and overcoming it.
I also always cry over the idea about even though someone is no longer with you, they’re still with you spiritually, or in your heart. You can make any character die, and I probably won’t really cry over it unless someone gives a small speech about the importance of the heart. It’s just.. FGHDFKGJHDFFDKGH. GUHGGHGUG. It’s sad when someone physically dies, but the emotional connection that lives on ALWAYS GETS TO ME….. anyways that’s all for now BYE

This is absolutely beautiful; the animated film is one of the most heartfelt movies children have the privilege of watching, and one of the best I have ever seen. You did a truly incredible job with this drawing/animation, and the music only adds to it.

I dont think if everybody is aware that they did cut the first land before time with almost 15-20 minutes due to the fact that Steven Spielberg said to the storywrite that he cant make it more scary it can affect the kids, so they took away a huge chunk of the movie. Don Blunt i think it was. That particular back in the 90´s for me ( was six years old) did affect me ,that i for the first time got legit emotional. Nevertheless it is one of best movies ever!

I named my dog after Littlefoot because I loved this movie (I was four at the time, btw).
Sadly, he passed away at age 16 on November 2013 (less than a year ago).
...omg, the tears .

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There goes my heart and my childhood- this was the saddest scenes in all animated movies for me, apart from Bambi (I mean, COME ON) and this just brings back parts of my childhood! Basically, you made me cry, but in a good way!

This has to be one of the most saddest death scenes in animation. Mufusa's death from The Lion King scared me for life since I was very little! (No pun intended.) Also Aerith's death from Final Fantasy VII was really sad. God the piano was so sad and beautiful!

This is my childhood in a nutshell. This is the first animated movie I remember watching as a kid. This was the first movie that made me cry, in fact this right here represents the first time I remember crying. I would also like to thank you because somehow my eyes are filled with joy, memories and above all happiness. It's a very sad movie, but also so god damn amazing, I love it.
About losing someone, it's been little above 6 years but I can't overcome the feeling of guilt and I can't possibly ever fill the gap that the event opened in my heart.
I guess everybody dies at some point, we're no different.
Thank you, for thisl; somehow I think I needed it.

I sometimes debate in my mind if the first movie I while also showing what death was,was either the first Lbt or Simba nudging Mufasa in the Lion King but I like to think it's this one b/c as good as the Lion King is despite all the criticism of it being a "Kimba the white lion" rip-off,Disney deaths are still a dime a dozen but goodness knows Don Bluth ain't churning out anymore animated movies with that special effects animation and story-telling touches of being very grim but still having a bright ending.
;_; Dang what you did w/the Diana Ross song. The way it's being played reminds me of like those little kid or baby toys where you like crank a thing "scrolling" picture inside and the scenery moves around.

So awesome speech you said Q_Q
I always find this scene super emotional too. You know, many people in their childhood cried on Mufasas death and still consider that it was the most powerful scene in their live, the only one that makes them cry. But for me the death of Littlefoot’s mother is much stronger. This scene will live in my heart forever...
