And OSX is BSD ripoffs running off a bastardized Mach3 kernel oh and its file system is from the 1980s the whole OS is 98% free open source crap but with the "FREE" and "OPEN" ripped right the fuck out so you can pay waaay more for your mac mini than its worth........and do NOT get me started on how Apple treats ITS competition, the bastards think they own FUCKING ROUNDED CORNERS AND SWIPE-TO-UNLOCK and will sue the hell out of anybody that includes an APPLE in their logo I'm a NIX guy and I dislike redmond as much as anyone but APPLE is even worse

In the end, they're all rips of something. Mac OS definitely is no better. It started as a rip, and now it owes most of its stability and fame to Unix. And while it may not have been so evident in 2005, saying Apple is "competition friendly" now is a complete laugh.

And the original Mac OS was a rip off of Xerox, except it ended up sucking so much that Apple had to throw it away and "steal" BSD, slap a crappy GUI on it, call it OSX and sell if for $250, even though BSD Linux can be free. They even use Intel hardware now, the only original thing left at Apple are higher prices for questionable prestige... Sorry, I have to use a Mac at work and it's ... not fun, I find that even Vista is better then OSX...

although i dont agree with your views, i think how you wrote it was pretty funny. not to mention that windows originally was the bugged version of mac.

Cute, but technologically inaccurate. The macintosh os is actually a rip of BSD- doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it I just think it might be unfair to rag on M$ for copying mac when all mac did was copy a _free_ operating system. Such is the technology industry...

Windows is not a rip off. Supposedly apple had a GUI first, but I don't think it's reasonable to presume to copyright a concept of a way to interface to something.
Now, I would say they can be be laughable in how they copycat something, and don't make it any better. Take "bing" the new Microsoft search engine. Looks like crap, works like crap, and doesn't even hold a candle to google. I do like the rhyme there, though. For those who don't like Windows, there is one really nasty thing I wish Microsoft would do away with or replace, the WINDOWS Registry.

Can you make a Windows wallpaper and call it
Mac - A Windows Followup -
or something like that.

I say Mac is the best for everything! It is the most powerful and compatible OS out there. Windows has been copying Apple scene Apple invented the mouse in the early 80's. I am a photographer, I deal with extremely large images all the time in Photoshop, I can't afford for a windows to crash on me. My brother uses it for 3D animation with Vue 6. I also use it for everything else.
This might just be me, but every time i touch a windows computer, it does something to prove to me why to keep hating it.
by the way, nice wallpaper

I use Windows. Mac is all nice looking and fancy, but Windows in so robust and all the advanced software is usually Windows-only.

yeah, like adobe and autodesk products most of people who use these software use macs. Windows is robust, indeed, my 5-hour macbook battery dies in 1 and a half our under win7, and if windows craches, it buries all under itself...
but you are right in one point: macs look awesome
peace

Both Microsoft and Mac owe a good deal of credit to Bell Labs and AT&T. Without the ground laid out by UNIX, a lot of what we take for granted wouldn't be available today. GUIs and mice themselves were out long before the Mac started coming around. Mac's kernel and architecture may be different, but it owes a lot to BSD. Microsoft's Disk Operating System and like environments are what I call "UNIX in another language," in that the systems of pipelines and shells are based off UNIX's systems. Same - more so, actually - with Mac.
So before any crossfire over who's derivative starts flying, pay your respects to Bell Labs, AT&T, 1969, the Berkley Software Distribution at the University of California, and Doug Engelbart.

Well they tried, but they did a shitty-ass job doing it. Hopefully in Windows 7 they'll remember half the shit they left out of their rip for Vista. Maybe then I'll switch back over to Windows, but chances are slim. Nice one, buddy.

Yeah they are ripping things, but it seems to bring them the money, so they're just gonna keep doing that unfortunately.
Awesome picture though, politics aside.

Personally, the deciding factor for me between PC and Macs is the price. If I'm told to work with a Mac or a PC that's in front of me, I'll do either one. If I'm told to buy a Mac or a PC, I stick with the PC.

I've used both and mac fails hard. Macs are for people who don't know how to use computere.

I disagree, a mac makes it ez to do ez things and complicated things. I do everything from communicating to advanced photoshop. I've even started playing with editing applications code. I can network with any computer, and make professional movies in Final Cut. That's just the beginning.
So don't say it's for people who can't use computers.
A Windows can do all of that too, but in tipple the steps, that's if it doesn't crash in the mean time.
If you can, give Mac another chance, customize it so it runs how you want. Then see what you like better. If you still like windows, that's ok. I just don't want you miss out.

A lot of software for both Mac and PC run the same on both operation systems, so using Photoshop on Mac, like in your example, isn't that big of a difference from using Photoshop on a PC. The same applies to any Adobe program. I'm not much of a programmer, so I'm not sure about editing application codes but I HAVE used both a Mac and a PC so I'm not making any false claims.
I've been switching between Mac and PC everyday for school since all the school computers are Macs and I use a PC at home. At this moment, I still prefer PC a lot more than Mac because the software I use work the same way on both systems and gaming is also another huge factor that affects my preference.
But like I said, I've only been using Mac at school so I haven't had much of a chance to customize it. It's not that I hate Macs, I just prefer PCs more. I just don't like how many (not all) Mac fans have this huge superiority complex and take an arrogant approach in claiming that Macs are better than PCs in every way.

I love the feud here, honestly I do, it's a lol and half.
I was looking for something like this wall because I just downloaded Stardock's Objectdock for my Vista Builder's Edition os. I should actually put up a screenshot just for fun sometime.
Anyway, I build my own PC's and would never, ever use a Mac after going through school having to use them, not to mention comparing base hardware prices between the two. Seriously, 500 dollars for an upgrade from two gigs of ram to four gigs of ram in the Mac Pro? Jesus, I can get four gigs of DDR 2 800 ram for less than 100 dollars on Newegg no problem. But hey, I guess Apple has to make money somehow, and pandering to schools and people who don't have a basic knowledge of computer hardware is how they're going to do it.
I like the wallpaper though, I found it pretty funny
