We are our own worst critic. I'll make something. Look at it a few time. Then take it apart. My mama asks my why I do this. I answer because I don't like it. Her response is, but someone else may have loved it. Same applies to all art.

100% truth; I'm slowly re-learning how to push through to the finish.

It's always insightful to see an artist work-flow, so thank you for sharing!

I keep thinking "Man, I can't draw; this looks really bad", but then the longer I fuss, the better it looks. Took me a while to realise, as I always thought it is a waste of time working on something when it looks "bad"...

Wow, really beautifully done!

Hahaha I can relate so much to what you wrote. xD

Some of the first ones that became quite good for me, I spent around 24h-40h if not more to make.
It took me around a month to complete one painting.
I still never say that I'm talented.
I just point out that I'm tenacious as fak.

And whenever I talk about my paintings with people, I always direct their eyes to my flaws as a painter..
Because this is how my internal discussions looks like:

"Everyone said very nice things about my latest painting.
Yay! Celebration dance!"

.... "But still"...
"Do it better next time!"

"After I've passed out from straining my balls
by painting the latest one that is."
