Finally got this piece finished. has been bugging me about this since I started it - way back in 2010.Due to college classes, I could only work on it during summer breaks and that was sporadic depending on how many hours I was working per week (often over 40) - and what Assassin's Creed game happened to have come out the previous fall that I had to complete before classes started back up again. (I don't touch video games when the semester is in session.)
Anyway, always imagined that Optimus, if given the chance, would be the type to take a moment to reflect on things now and then.

It's beautiful! A lot of Transformers artists don't add a lot of color to Cybertron cityscapes, but it really makes this piece pop while at the same time keeping the somber atmosphere. Great work!

OMG I am jelous of how much detail was put into the landscape! The buildings and that glass railing are beautiful. I love the far left building and Optimu of course

Just gonna nth all the other comments drooling over the atmosphere here. It's lovely. Also a very nicely balanced composition, with the rainbow-illuminated building more or less in the middle, the building's orange and Op's red to either side, and the lit windows bracketing the whole scene.
I am questioning the choice of texture on the buildings to the left, though. It's a bit visually jarring and makes them feel way too "organic" to really fit in with the rest of the Cybertronian architecture, unless that's the intention and they're, like, some squishy lifeforms' planets' embassies or something.

Thanks. This is supposed to be post exposure to Earth but the buildings on the left weren't technically designated to any particular species. I was playing around with textures on them, specifically a glass texture. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting but I did want it to be different than the typical Cybertronian style. So, I left them - because I can get really OCD about it and mess with them until eternity and I think Heather would kill me.

Impressive. I do love how his posture says so much. So much detail to the city too. Lots for his mind to behold and take in.
It may seem silly, but I'm very impressed with the glass side to the deck. I can see the rounded top (railing) and then also the curve to the wall itself.
