Oil on canvas60cm x 80cm
This is mainly a copy of Ivan Shishkin's painting "Thickets" from 1881. I chose a slightly browner and more yellowed colour tone and tried to make the hill less steep.
I have been looking at a lot of master's paintings lately and as a result of that, I wasn't too happy with my technique. Therefore I figured, that copying some of my favourites could help to improve my brushwork.

Fantastic! Itβs not often that one comes across a fellow artist who truly appreciates nineteenth century masters such as Shishkin.
He is personally one of my favourite artists of the era.
