I am starting to think L zooms may be a tad bit over rated. I just sold my 24-70 2.8L and am getting a $300 Canon 24mm 2.8. Primes (even the cheap non-L ones)are light and almost alwyas have better image quality than the zooms...and filters are a helluva lot cheaper
