Stunning. Simply. Stunning. I'm amazed too, as I've never seen such a large starfish in such shallow areas, even during high tide. Truly an opportune snapshot.

did you use HDR?
if so photomatix or photoshop?

No HDR. I used a split graduated neutral density filter (www.SinghRay.com) which is a rectangular peice of glass that is clear on the bottom half and the top half is 2 stops darker but neutral and colorless. This prevents the sky from blowing out so the exposure appears the way your eye would see it. Congrats onthe new D90- great choice for a camera!

The clarity of the water is amazing, shows what a polarizer can do..the colors in the sky are amazing...your skill is what I aspire to achieve..incredible work here!
