Description this is another sketch to finish example..
don't know if anyone cares to see how a piece comes together..
but I figure there might be atleast someone who does.

Valkyrie is always interesting to draw because she's a 6 & 1/2 foot tall warrior woman..
too many muscles and it becomes a body builder sorta thing..
too few and it a high-fashion drawing...

I went with a swimmers build..

That is some tight cross-hatching in the BG. And I am one of those folk who enjoy the step-by-step process of an artist.

Nice work Mike.

good inking, but I must say, I think I prefer the sketch version more... just my preference, but sometimes I think inking a pic can take something away from it...
but still, very good...

I think you did a great job distributing the muscles ...
but I'm really surprised how bare the sketch is compared with the inks. o_o impressive on the detail jump

This is gorgeous, and I really love seeing the transition from pencil to ink. Very useful for us up and comer artists trying to get better.

i always enjoy seeing the process behind a piece. Also I think you did a great job with portraying an athletic yet not overly developed body for her, it's not an easy thing to do. Most people that I see drawing comics don't ever even consider it so hat's off to you.

Really like the art Bair- looking at your interpretation really makes me appreciate the character...

But I think the decorative border treatment undermines the refined line work of the figure...

backgrounds are always tricky.....

too little and the figure is just floating in space..
too much and the BG & figure fight for attention.

I just thought the "grey" would help "PoP"
Val out !!!

she definitely does not suffer from looking too weak to be as strong as she is.... great work, a great example of a fierce strong woman in comics.....

believe it or not..
it's a great way to settle the mind..
it mostly takes zero talent..
it's more "craft" than "art".........

but it does relax me to do the mindless tasks..

guess that says alot about me......lol.

nah.....

it's just the time it takes to do it..

most artists can work for hours on end without any problems..
but sometimes when the deadline stress is in high-gear...
the hand does feel alittle 'cramp"....
however that's pretty rare.

I do care, to see such developing pictures...and Iam honestly amazed that you went from that relativly*loose* sketch to that detailed in just one step(what is Ink already) What amazing Inker you must be going from that step to a proper inking...This is- at least to me like a miracle- All these folds and details you add in the final piece...stunning as always!
