Here are early sprites that I made for one of the bosses for the AM2R project back in 2010.DoctorM64 told me that he wanted to have a fight similar to the boss fights with Arma from "Demon's Crest" for the SNES.
He had trouble making the golden wings work, so we opted for simpler jet pack wings instead.
There's an Easter Egg in the transformation animation (Psalm 144:1), which I found quite fitting, considering the warrior background of the ancient Chozo race.
Either way, it was really fun working on this boss and this project as a whole. ^^
