Description
So yeah, this spawned from last night when I saw a little tiny spider skitter by on my wall, and I got REALLY spooked for some reason. I don't get it... How can something so small and practically harmless scare the pants off of me? It's just plain stupid.Art © Me, myself, and Moi

what exactly is the difference between the first and second panels?

The first panel probably shows what people with arachnophobia see while the second one is the reality of the size of the spider.

Hahaha! That's so true, it happens to me that whenever I saw one of those, I'm just "go away!" when the poor things are just wondering and one shouldn't try to kill them... except if they are the dangerous ones.

freak'n black widows are the blame man.

Even black widows are exaggerated, actually. They are very docile, only bite if forced against skin, and they're only potentially deadly if you have a bad heart, HIV or some other condition to compound things. Even then your chances of survival are about 99%....the last person to die of a black widow bite was over 22 years ago

A human swallows about 8 spiders in their life time. :>

There is no evidence that say humans eat 8 spiders a year/decade/lifetime (where ever you read this "fact"). First spiders aren't attracted to dark moist areas (TWSS?). Secondly how do you test if there was a spider in someones stomach? You would have to pump someones stomach everyday for the rest of their life to see if there's a spider. Even then you'll find nothing. The body of the spider will practically be vaporized by the acids in the stomach.

Actually, both the "spider always near you" and "swallowing spiders in your sleep" are total myths.
Spiders are not dumb enough to walk into the mouth of a big, sleeping animal. You're in fact quite scary to them, even while you sleep!
