Description The theme here is ~ 'being surrounded by beauty but filled with misery on the inside.'
As you can see she's not being pushed into the water, as is you would expect but instead she wants to jump, to escape the misery of her life as a captive at sea.

In a way this relates to the Greek myth of Cassandra (whose name means - bringer of doom) who had a tragic, untimely death brought on by her own madness. There's also a song about a girl named Cassandra who left on a ship after the death of her sister and father so obviously, the name fit well.

I've considered writing a story based on this climatic image. Maybe I will one day.

Enchanting. The colors of the sky and ocean are perfect- I especially love the dress, however- the lines guide the eyes nicly through the whole picture, keeping the theme highlighted. Great job!

Thanks! When I added the ropes (which was a lst minute thing) I didn't think about it guiding the eye through the compostition. I'm glad you pointed that out though. Now I can tell people I did that on purpose

I really like the shading on the back of the dress. The refection on the water is excellent and helps establish the mood.

Thank you! I'm glad you like the way the water looks. The background was based off of a series of photograph references, some for the sky, some for the water. I guess I got lucky that they both matched up

Thanks! Yeah for some reason this isn't all flowing well to me but I think it has potential to be one of my best. If I do come back to it I think I'll change the character out with something more dramatic.
