There's a very gritty seriousness here with the apathetic tower dominating the scene. As though it's condescending to observe the squabbles of those less permanent than it. I like the balance in colours between earthy and bleak. It seems natural without being too vibrant and really adds depth to the piece.

Great painting. however I have a problem with the tower which seems too small. Or is it just perspective ?

Terrific piece. I'd love to use more realistic examples like this for a wizard's tower than the more fantastic fantasy versions. This is a place I can imagine walking into.

Yeah I understand, I've no objections of using photos here and there for some texture, but it scares me how the trends shifted from "evereybody wants to be Craig Mullins" to photobashing on a massive scale, good that there are people like you who do it mostly by hand. Although if Id have a hectic deadline and sneakeing a photo in there would save my head, then I'd probably do it as well. Oh well we don't always get what we want, do we?
Anyhow Michal have a great day and good luck with future projects, i simply adore your work so I'm eager tos ee more in the future. Take Care
