Description
So I kinda decided the soldier needed something a bit more serious and well thought out than my previous guns, so I went to work modernizing current gun models to get a more realistic edge to this science fiction.Stats?
-Action: Double closed-bolt throwback
-Feed system: 75 bullet extended round box magazines
-Fire rate: 1200 rounds P/m
-Effective range: 100 meters
-Maximum range: 160 meters
-Cartridge: .45 ACP
The design accommodates 4 modes; single fire, burst fire, full auto and a single barrel mode for ammunition conservation as well as safe mode obviously. (That last one doesn't count)
In addition a light has been fitted on the stock which glows different colors depending on the different modes. Safe mode is green. Should save a few goofy soldiers some awkward moments? It can be turned on or off for stealth operations.
Finally red/orange lights have been fitted to indicate where on the gun heats up or ejects hot material. Like bullet casings.
I'm going to have fun texturing.

Why two barrels? How the hell does this thing feed?

Haha okay so I don't claim to know a lot about to workings of guns here but you will notice there are mechanisms for ejecting casings and feeding bullets on both sides of the gun as well as a double thick mag feeding paired bullets into each chamber(you'll see both sides have a spring loaded feeding system). In retrospect I wanted to alter the design to make more sense and have a side-loaded action but originally I wanted to stick to the original design for the MP 340 as much as possible in order to have the feel that it was a plausible futuristic weapon as opposed to a ray gun or something from a distant future.
I would appreciate any advice or information to more accurately capture the working parts here because as I said I'm not too keyed up on the general workings of firearms.
Thanks for the feedback and sorry about the copy paste but this question seems to come up a bit.

The lower barrel looks more suited to fit the design,
The upper barrel looks like it could be used as a metal storm syle shotgun w/4-5rd mag
