this is really great. I am from Southend and live next to the pier and it reminds me of a quiet winter's morning on the seafront. well done

it's like a more sobering version of Munch's 'Scream'... it's the morning after

I love it! Really, really well done. The colours are amazing, looks very realistic. This would make a good print!

It reminds me of Edvard Munch's The Scream too.
Like feeling expressed by colour.

It reminds me of Edvard Munch's The Scream, only hold the screamer. I love the colors you've used and the transition into the sky warming upward. Very nice!

When I first saw it I thought it was a water color. It's beautiful, especially for your first time with oils. I have yet to actually work with oils in depth, but hopefully I'll be able to take a painting class soon.
I love the colors and simplicity of it.

My painting class teacher said it had that watercolour look too Oils is such a great medium, i love how you can use it very thinly to get a soft and watercolour look, or paint very thick to get a bold and texture-y look. My painting class is almost over now but i'm definately gonna buy some oils for my own and practise with it!
Thanks for the nice comment I'm glad you like it!

:: nods :: I have a small set of oil paints that I would like to use, but I don't think I am comfortable enough yet to paint without some sort of guidance. I think my art comes out better when I have some sort of feedback during the process and not just afterwards.
