Heh, that reminded me of one of the first episodes where Pikachu went against a swarm of birds. He (by lack of obvious gender) was all little and weak back then, especially against that horde, but all of a sudden WTFBBQLIGHTNINGTACTICALNUKE.
It was awesome.
